The Detrimental Effects of the Urban Dilemma:Financial Literacy – The Mission of the Financial Literacy Initiative
Is to identify and make available programs that result in enlightened individuals who Earn, Save, Invest and Spend Wisely. In the long term, we will witness visible transformation within families and communities as individuals learn to develop and execute sound long-term financial plans focused on creating, growing and managing wealth. Seminars include: FICO Scores, Refinancing and any topics on the FDIC’s Smart Money disc.
Education:–The Mission of the Education Initiative
Is to identify and make available programs that focus on giving individuals equal access to an excellent education. In the long term, we will witness visible transformation within families and communities as men, women and children are empowered with the ultimate prerequisite to success—a good education. Events will include career night, where we bring in speakers from different professions and have them talk about their training and their current jobs. We hope to inspire both the young and the older to dream toward higher education and better jobs.
Crime Reduction – The Mission of the Crime Initiative
Is to identify and make available programs that reduce crime and lower recidivism rates for past offenders. In the long term, we will witness visible transformation within families and communities as individuals learn to successfully navigate positive, alternate routes to securing food, shelter, clothing, inclusion and acceptance. Sessions will include a “Here Comes the Judge” segment. We will develop our program around a judge as the keynote speaker, as well as attorneys. Other sessions will include topics such as child support payments and what to do when stopped by the police, among others. In addition, focus areas include Reduction, Prevention and Rehabilitation.
Economic Development – The Mission of the Economic Development Initiative
Is to identify and make available programs that result in new jobs being created and provide job training. In the long term, we will witness visible transformation within families and communities as individuals are given the means and the tools to achieve a living wage. Sessions on entrepreneurship will include starting a business, job training and job creation, among others.
Family – The Mission of the Family Life Initiative
Is to identify and make available programs that focus on improving the quality of life within the nuclear family. Particular emphasis will be given to the black man focusing on repairing the unique damage that he has suffered. In the long term, we will witness visible transformation within families and communities as men, women and children are given the tools to achieve a thriving, productive, wholesome, spiritual family environment. Focus areas include: Improving communications, marriage session with a special session for children in the family. Activities on: Developing Healthy Men, Women, and Children.
